Quality - Safety - Environment specialization
This program provides in-depth knowledge in the field of risk management and pollution caused by industrial activities. It involves offering technical solutions through the design and operation of cleaner and safer processes, as well as organizational solutions by implementing Quality/Safety/Environment/Integrated QSE management systems. A key focus of the program is also the control of occupational risks to ensure Health and Safety at Work. A distinctive feature of this program is its collaboration with industry professionals who provide operational case studies.
Prerequisites
Specialization curriculum accessible to all school departments.
Skills
- Understand the methodology and issues of quality, safety and environment management systems and use the management tools.
- Identify the regulation and legislative contexts connected to safety and environment.
- Analyze organizations and identify the causes of accidents.
- Estimate the occupational risks in a company and minister the first care during an accident.
- Implement a quality approach based on ISO 9001 standard.
- Understand the methodology of an integrated management system.
- Know how to lead an audit and to distinguish a good from a poor audit.
- Be able to design/change and manage processes so they meet safety and environmental requirements.
- Establish models on the consequences of accidents such as the dispersal of a toxic and/or inflammable gas with simple tools.
- Know how to apply the ATEX directive on simple cases.
- Know how to apply the directive on Prevention and Reduction of Pollution on simple cases.
